The best way to actively manage your woodlot is through a timber harvest. For many this can be an intimidating, scary thing to think about since one may only thin their woodlot once or twice during their ownership. At NWFM we make this process simple, easy to understand and we hope very enjoyable! We use only reputable, fully insured and trained logging subcontractors to thin woodlots, to ensure good end results. From the day we first meet, to signing a contract, marking timber to be removed, supervising the harvest and paying you for the forest products removed, we are there for you.

We place the right equipment on the lot based on forest type, ground conditions and your wants, needs and objectives. Just as a carpenter wouldn’t use a sledge hammer for finish work, we use the correct tool for the job also.

Harvesting Crews

These crews will merchandise pulpwood, sawlogs and chip the top wood of harvested trees on the landing.

Cut to Length

These crews process the trees into products in the woods – generally no chipping is involved.

Conventional

After cutting trees down and limbing with a chainsaw, these crews use a cable skidder to pull the trees to a landing.

Wildlife Specific Cuts

All types of wildlife prefer different species and age classes of trees. These are favored during a harvest.

Sanitation

Dead, dying or trees in poor health are removed to improve overall stand health.

Land Conversion

A crew will clear an area for agriculture or development/mixed use.
